Σύμφωνα με το Hello, ο σχεδιαστής David Emanuel, που είναι υπεύθυνος για το υπέροχο νυφικό της Πριγκίπισσας Diana με την τεράστια ουρά, είχε σχεδιάσει ένα ακόμα φόρεμα σε περίπτωση που το πρώτο σχέδιο θα διέρρεε στον Τύπο.

"Θέλαμε να είμαστε σίγουροι πως το φόρεμα θα είναι μια έκπληξη για όλους. Το δεύτερο φόρεμα δεν το είχε δοκιμάσει η Diana. Δεν μιλήσαμε καν γι'αυτό. Απλά ήθελα να είμαι σίγουρος ότι θα υπήρχε και ένα δεύτερο: ήταν για να είμαστε εμείς ήρεμοι" δηλώνει σήμερα ο ίδιος ο σχεδιαστής.

Diana's wedding dress was valued at £9,000. The dress was made of ivory silk taffeta, decorated with lace, hand embroidery, sequins, and 10,000 pearls. It was designed by Elizabeth and David Emanuel and had a 25-foot train of ivory taffeta and antique lace.The dress was designed according to Diana's wishes who wanted it to have the longest train in the royal wedding history. Charles wore his full dress naval commander uniform.The bride wore her Spencer family's heirloom tiara.She wore a pair of low-heeled shoes "with C and D initials hand-painted on her arches".The official parfumeur of the royal wedding was the House of Houbigant, the oldest French fragrance company. Diana was reported to have accidentally spilled perfume over a part of her dress which she later covered by hand during the ceremony.Per the Queen's orders, two similar bouquets were prepared for the bride by David Longman which contained "gardenias, stephanotis, odontolglossum orchid, lily of the valley, Earl Mountbatten roses, freesia, veronica, ivy, myrtle and trasdescantia".

Το δεύτερο φόρεμα δεν ήταν τόσο εντυπωσιακό, όχι αρκετά έτσι ώστε να γράψει ιστορία, παρ'όλο που, σύμφωνα με τα λόγια του σχεδιαστή, είχε ένα παρόμοιο ψηλό γιακά από ταφτά.

Το φόρεμα που τελικά έγινε το νυφικό της Diana είχε V ντεκολτέ και φουσκωτά μανίκια, 10.000 πέρλες, αντικέ δαντέλα και μια ουρά 7,5 μέτρων! Αυτό όμως που το καθιστά ανεξίτηλο στη μνήμη όλων είναι η εκπληκτική γυναίκα που το φόρεσε.
